This is an electric guitar my friend gifted me (Thanks Seulgi!). I decided to completely overhaul it after hearing its... suboptimal sound. It's gotten to the point where I can't really call it a mod, more of a build. All of the changes are listed below:
-Humbucker pickup to p90 pickup
-Top pickup slot, top pickup too
-Added rotary switch to add more tone options (really cool switch to change capacitor options)
-Completely redid wiring, including adding a new switch to change between pickups (or use both at the same time!)
-Shaved some of the neck off, no photos sadly
This is still a work in progress. I need to add a new pickguard
as well as add the neck and find a new bone nut for the strings.
Picture of the guitar on the right. Notice the exposed wiring as well as the rotary switch in the cavity. I can definitively
say that it was not my best routing job.
This is my main electric guitar that I like to play shoegaze with. The guitar itself has several mods which are listed below:
-One tone knob with one output
-2nd tone pot replaced with a switch that sends the signal to one of 2 capacitors
-7 position switch (with two new added pickup positions aside from the stock 5 position switch)
-Shotgun shell tone/volume knobs
-Extra shielding
That's about it for this guitar. It can make pretty much any basic sound, you just gotta shape it using the tone or some effector.
A picture of the guitar to the right. The capacitor switch is hidden by the bending arm, but you can still make part of it out
