This is a simple mod for the MT-2 to reduce the harshness of the clipping. Basically, you replace one of the germanium diodes with a LED. The LED apparently reduces clipping but still lets the signal flow in one direction. I also added a switch to turn the effect on or off. Unfortunately, I used alcohol to wipe off part of the pedal to clean it, but BOSS used alcohol soluble paint to coat their pedals. This kinda ruined the finish, but the pedal still works. Function over form always.
The modded MT-2 is on the right. I do not have pictures of it before the mod. You can notice the exposed metal on the top left and the aftermarket switch on the top right.
Simple mod for guitar mod. I did this mod for the JHS 3 series chorus, Holy Grail reverb, SD-1 overdrive, and MT-2 metal zone. Simple mod, just dont get the polarity of the LEDs wrong.
Picture of finished mod on the right. This is the JHS 3 series chorus with a blue LED, it originally comes with a red one.
